UEFA EURO 2020 postponed to 2021, a letter to all Volunteers.

The Italian FA and the UEFA EURO 2020 Volunteer Team Rome would like to thank all Volunteers and set an appointment for next year.

Dear UEFA EURO 2020 Volunteers,

We hope that this message finds you well.

We regret to inform you that, following today's consultation with all our constituents and stakeholders, the UEFA Executive Committee has taken a decision to postpone the UEFA EURO 2020 to the summer of 2021. This decision was made to safeguard the health and well-being of all our staff, volunteers as well as the fans, players, officials and the general public, and to reduce the pressure on the emergency services, which would otherwise be key partners in delivering our events.

We are fully aware that this difficult situation impacts each one of you and we would like to assure you that we are already looking at best possible solutions on how we can organise our EURO Volunteer Programme. We will keep you informed as soon as we have completed the analysis and developed the plan for the UEFA EURO Tournament. Further information will be released in the upcoming weeks concerning the new volunteer kick-off event date and your potential availabilities for these new tournament dates. First of all, please save the date: 11/06/2021 – 11/07/2021.

In the meantime, we would like to thank you for your full understanding and support. We are counting on you, your enthusiasm and positive impact on the future UEFA EURO tournament while also kindly asking that you take all measures recommended by the public authorities to ensure your safety and well-being.

Let’s create all together an unforgettable tournament and great summer 2021!

Best regards,

Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio and UEFA EURO 2020 Volunteer Team Rome
